Wyatt S Doolittle asked:

Searching cell phone numbers is and can be a very daunting task. First, you have to find a reliable cell phone directory that has a large database of phone numbers, then if are on a limited budget you have to find a directory that is inexpensive or free, and last if you only know the cell phone number you have to find a reverse cell phone directory. There have been quite a few online cell phone directories popping up on the internet since there is no official cell phone directory published by the major cell phone companies such as: Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Nextel. With all of these different cell phone directories it is hard to choose which one to use. Many of the directories out there charge to lookup a cell phone number and they do not guarantee a match. So, if you don’t find the number or name that you are looking for you are out that money you spent on it. There are also free cell phone number directories out there but again many of them either do not have a large enough database of cell phone numbers or some just don’t work period. There is a site out there called www.cellnumberdirectories.com that ranks the top cell phone directories on the web. It seems that they have done their research and the site has some very useful information. They basically do the work for you when it comes to finding the best cell phone directory. They also have a section on reverse cell phone number lookups that lists the top free reverse cell phone directories on the internet. Below are some highlights of the site.

National Cellular Directory (www.nationalcellulardirectory.com) – They rank this the best site for searching cell phone numbers. One of the reasons they rank it so high is because it is free and also because it has large database of cell phone numbers. This site seems to be really picking up and is starting to be “the” cell phone directory for searching cell phone numbers.

Mobile Phone Number (www.mobilphoneno.com) – They rank this website number 2. This site has been around for a long time and seems to be a good site if your are searching for world wide cell phone numbers.

Free Reverse Cell Phone Directory (www.free-reverse-cell-phone-directory.com) – They rank this site the best site for searching reverse cell phone numbers. As the title says it is a free directory and you can only search by cell phone number not by name.

These are just a few of the sites listed by www.cellnumberdirectories.com . This is a great site if you want to quickly find a good cell phone directory without doing the research. It has a lot of useful information and is dedicated to helping you find who you are looking for.

Free sms

Amika Mobile asked:

It is interesting that the approach that vendors and carriers continue to tout to users is that they need ALL their emails on the mobile phones. Users can either register for a “push” email for mobile phones service such as the Blackberry and receive every annoying desktop email they get in its full glory with its hundreds of lines and threads. Or they can sign-up to other vendor offerings such as Google or Yahoo! with their “pull” offerings for Smart Phones which download your desktop email view to your 2×2 inch micro screen! Both types of services force you into expensive plans of $50-100 per month and you have to buy a Smart Phone. This is even the model for the more innovative devices such as the iPhone from Apple. So, what is a poor overwhelmed user to do?

Users need to look at reducing the volume and hence expense of the “all” or “nothing” model. The enterprise can look at buying a product that only forwards the critical emails to users with the option to reduce the content of those emails down to the key content. Consumers can similarly sign-up to Smart Email-to-SMS portals that automatically reduce the number of packets (and hence cost) based on salient content and then decide if that email should go mobile or not.

The carriers and the vendors would have us believe there are no such services! All you have to do is look at innovative solutions like the Email to SMS solution of Amika Mobile to know that there are great alternatives out there!!

Mobile Phone

Ben Levanger asked:

If you wish to trace cell phone numbers for free, it is now possible via the internet. Even though cell phones are commonly used by people, cell numbers are not disclosed publicly in order to preserve the privacy of cell phone users. By tracing ones cell number, you can have direct contact with that person. Online cell phone directories offer you this facility. Although most of the online cell phone directories charge a fee for their service, you also have the option of free online cell phone directories that are generated day by day.

By entering the requested information of the cell phone owners, you can trace their cell numbers from these online directories. Very often these sites ask the cell phone owners first name, last name, city and state. After entering these details, you will get your required cell number within seconds. You can search for a cell phone number as many times as you like free of cost. Another facility provided in these online directories is the reverse lookup facility. In a reverse cell phone directory you can enter the cell number and find out the name and address of the owner of the cell number. Normally owners of commercial firms, eBay buyers and sellers, and company representatives register their cell number and address in these sites.

Usually, only the cell numbers of those individuals who are willing to disclose their number to the public are available in these sites. However, in some online cell phone directories, numbers are disclosed without the permission of the cell owner. This often intrudes into the privacy of cell phone holders. These online directories might charge a fee for their services as they collect these numbers from cell companies on payment. Other sources they use for collecting cell phone numbers are public records, magazine subscriptions, government documents, third party services and more.

The benefits of an online cell phone directory are: you can get information about unknown or harassing phone calls, find details of numbers that appeared in your cell phone bill, locate your old friends in school or college, find cell numbers using name and address and more. Most of the online cell phone directories are focused on the states in the US. More places around the world have started using the facility of tracing cell phone numbers. We can expect online sources for worldwide tracing of cell phone numbers in the recent future.

Free sms

- Bath Opera is an amateur opera company staging a small number of productions a few times each year.
- Paul has performed in just 4 four productions with this company
- Paul has attended some masterclasses in Italy. These courses are designed for talented amateurs. All of these are paid for by those attending.
- A few masterclasses, even one with the great man do not constitute “a formal opera training” by any stretch of the imagination.
- Professional opera singers earn their living by treading the boards night after night week-in week-out, year after year with professional opera companies.
- Paul, has never earned a single penny from opera performance, other than winning a tv talent show in 1999 – the winnings funding masterclasses.
- Paul has not performed since 2003.
- He is not a professional opera singer pretending to be a mobile phone sales man, but rather he is a mobile phone salesman aspiring to be an opera singer.
- An operatic voice IS a trained voice.

Hmmmm, perhaps if I can buy a few classes at a pro cookery school, I can pass myself off as a highly experienced pro chef…..hmmmmm……

Sign Up for blog

Cathy Peterson asked:

The cell phone industry has come a long way since the inception of the private use personal cellular phone. In the late eighties and very early nineties it was a huge deal if you had a corded cellular phone in your car. The personal cell phone had terrible reception and was so large that you couldn’t exactly put it your pocket for convenient usage. To look back now and compare the cell phone industry’s first amazing wonders with the sleek razor phones of today, the first cell phones were actually laughable, but of course we didn’t know it.

Cell phones operate on a basic frequency notion of cell sites and the use of handover to be competitive in the industry. Using technology that most people aren’t interested in provided it is working when they are using their cell phone, handover is at the heart of the cell phone competition craze to provide the network with “fewest dropped calls.”

While cell phone technology and even some cell phone usage has been around since the mid nineteen forties, most people hadn’t heard of the usefulness of a cell phone until the early to mid eighties, where cell phones were predominately car phones.

Cell phone technology has grown immensely since cell phone usage has hit a massive boom stemming from the late nineties to early two thousands that has increased the capability of the average cell phone. Cell phones were once upon a time utilized only for placing or receiving a phone call. Now they come with the ability to text and instant message, take pictures and videos, do math, download information and music from the internet, wake you up with their plethora of alarms, download e-mail, and perhaps in the next year or two they will be able to walk to the dog and do the dishes. Cell phone technology is advancing at an amazing rate in an attempt to annihilate cell phone competitors.

The boom in cell phone popularity has led to various cell phone related offshoots such as cell phone etiquette, cell phones for children, cell phone accessories, and of course, cell phone competitive plans. The ease and flexibility that a cell phone now provides is contributing to the slow but eventual downfall to land line services. In the United Kingdom, it has been reported that the number of working cell phones actually out number the latest census.

Cell phone technology has leapt forward and a tremendous growth has only led to more competition. It will be interesting to watch the cell phone industry continuously make improvements and create developments that will lead to more user friendly cell phone features.

Free sms

Trycm asked:

Technology is constantly evolving, especially in the realm of cellar devices. You can’t turn on your TV without being bombarded by the newest, fastest, sleekest cell phone model. Each one comes with more capabilities and bells and whistles. So the time comes in every cell phone’s life to say goodbye. Change is good, but what happens to your old friend? Does it end up in a junk drawer? In an old box somewhere? If you’re like millions of Americans, it ends up in the trash….and this can be a serious problem. Recycling cell phones is an easy process which has many benefits. Below are 5 reasons why recycling your cell should be a priority.

Cell Phones Contain Toxic Materials

That sweet gun metal finish, back lit LCD screen, and QWERTY keypad come at a price, and that price is toxic materials. Most all cell phones these days contain lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic. Yeah, arsenic. When you toss it in the trash, it ends up in an incinerator or landfill, where those materials can combust causing some major environmental issues. These materials often times sweep into the soil or drinking water which ends up affecting a lot more than just the landfill they get dumped in. Many of these materials like cadmium and lead are known to cause liver and lung cancer in humans. With the average shelf life of a cell phone peaking out at 18 months, it’s easy to see how these little devices can result in a much larger problem.

All Those Phones Add Up!

When was the last time you met someone without a cell phone? Nowadays kids take notes via text message and surf myspace on their iPhones. Just about everyone has a cell, and they all want the newer, better version coming out next year. If the average cell phone user is only holding on to a phone for 18 months, that creates a LOT of waste. The EPA predicts that more than 150 MILLION cell phones are thrown away each year. That’s 75,000 tons of toxic material waste every single year. There is no sign of those numbers slowing or decreasing in the future. By recycling your phone, you are helping to cut down on this growing problem.

Just Because It’s Not New, Doesn’t Mean It Can’t Work

Wait, you’re telling me that my phone only has a 7 mega pixel camera, but this super new phone has a 16 mega pixel camera?? I’m ready to upgrade. But that doesn’t mean that Mr. 7 mega pixel no longer works. In fact 80% of the 150 million cells that are thrown out each year are in perfect, or close to perfect working order. When you recycle your phone, it is thoroughly inspected for its quality and whenever possible, it is refurbished and resold. But how does this benefit you? You’ve moved on to higher quality pictures and unlimited texts. By recycling your phone, you’ve helped keep production costs down, and in turn it keeps product costs down as well. That’ll come in handy next time you upgrade.

Even If Your Phone Is Dead, It Can Still Be Recycled

You spilled coffee on your phone, your dog chewed it up, and the screen is dead? It can still be recycled even if it can’t be reused. Many times broken phones still have many working parts which are reused in the production of new phones. Even in the event your old faithful phone is truly dead, all the metals and materials used to make it can be broken down and reused to make new cell phones. By recirculating the materials, it can significantly cut back on the need for new metal mining. All this is done in a completely environmentally safe process.

Recycle and Get Involved

November 15th is “America Recycles Day”. This national holiday is in its 11th year and going stronger than ever. Through the countless efforts of many local and national recycling and environmental facilities millions of Americans will learn what they can do to help. According to the EPA, if only 1 million cell phones were recycled, they could produce enough energy to power 1,940 homes with electricity for a full year! If 150 million phones got recycled that’d mean electricity for 291,000 homes. What better way to be a part of ARD than by starting off with recycling your old cell phone.

If you’d like more information on cell phone recycling, or if you’d like to find out what you can do to help, contact GRC Recycling, http://www.grcrecycling.com/

Sign Up for blog

Douglas Stewart asked:

As cell phone use has become more widespread, a number of different studies have been done that deal with cell phone users. The following are a few of the statistics that have resulted from these studies.

A growing concern about cell phone use is the fact that many people accept calls while they are driving. According to a number of studies, 73% of all cell phone users talk while they are driving. This statistic means that at any given minute on United States’ highways, 10% of all drivers are using these devices.

One study examined how well these individuals drive when they are distracted by a cell phone call. It was discovered that these drivers are 21% less likely to change lanes in medium traffic. In heavy traffic, the percentage was 19%. A cell phone user was also more likely to remain behind a slower moving vehicle. In light traffic, these individuals spent 31% more time behind a slower car than a normal driver did. In medium traffic, the rate was 16%. In heavier traffic, the driver spent 12% more time behind the other driver. These drivers also drove 2 mph slower than a normal driver did.

Another area of cell phone use that has been studied deals with children and the use of cell phones. The number of children that have cell phones is astounding. In the United States, about two-thirds of all children have cell phones. In Japan, 80% of high schools students and 25% of junior high school kids are carrying these devices. Great Britain and Scandinavia also have high percentages of children with cell phones.

The question of child safety is also an issue that has been addressed. According to one study, 37% of Japanese teenage males and 30% of Japanese teenage female have used their cell phones to access dating sites, leading to some of these children having unwanted sexual relations.

As well as becoming prey for sexual predators, unwanted cell phone messages from other children are also a problem. In one British study, 16% of young cell phone users have received threatening text messages from their peers, while another 7% have admitted to being harassed in chat rooms. 4% of these youngsters have been “bullied” via their cell phone. All these studies point to the problems that can arise from children having cell phones.

Another study that has been conducted among cell phone users has to do cell phone addiction. Cell phone addition is defined as the inability of a person to live without their cell phone. While some individuals argue that this is not a true addiction, some of these studies show otherwise. For example, in Japan, children who had cell phones did not make friends with peers who did not have them. In Hungary, three quarters of all children have these devices. Adolescents in Italy have multiple cell phones while in Great Britain 36% of all college students admitted that they could not live without these devices. 7% of the British students also stated that they had lost jobs or relationships due to their cell phone use.

The one thing that you can conclude form all of these studies is the fact that cell phones are becoming a major part of almost everyone’s lives. Whether this phenomenon is for the better or worst still remains to be seen.

Mobile Phone
